It's Not Brilliant...

It's not even original. But, it surely is handy.

I found this miniature carabiener on a sample tube of sunscreen (of all things!) and figured this would put it to better use. I leave it attached to my Stonewall all the time now, so I can't forget a hoof pick and don't have to bother with saddle bags or latigo.

It joined me and Aaruba for a fantastic ride today, jingling along for 11.5 miles of trotting, cantering, and dodging bellowing, onion-laden trucks -- all on gravel, all barefoot. It can be done!

*ponders* I like the carabiener use. I may have to borrow this idea. I like it better than having the hoof pick in a pouch or something.

I used to have the same hoof pick attached just like you have... be careful if you wear a raincoat, mine was spliced by the hoof pick on a trail ride...
it went back into the saddle bag from that day on...

Crys, I think you I've seen little carabieners like this in checkout lines. They also come on Repel brand insect repellent lotion.
