Shot in the Dark: Friendship

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it's the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Good quote. Nice photo, too. I see you two are "in step."

Too bad human friendship is rare as hen's teeth.

Hi There,
I just found your blog about a week ago and have been reading the whole thing!! You are a great writer and I love your stories.!! --Your Barb horses are just beautiful!! and so is Aaruba :) If I was thinner and my horse younger (and without arthritis) I would love to be and endurance rider. I think endurance is so neat. I'm constantly working on trying to get more fit so maybe in the future when I have another horse -- I can try comptetitive trail riding. Right now, my boy and I just work at becoming braver trail partners (when we take short rides). Thank you for posting about your rides. Since I can't do endurance, it's nice to be able to enjoy it through someone else's eyes. I have added you to my favorites on my blog. I hope you don't mind :)

Hi and welcome, Carol! I'm so glad you're enjoying The Barb Wire. Don't give up on the idea of endurance -- if you visit a ride sometime, you'll see that the sport welcomes all -- not everyone is young and super fit. :-)
